Week-end Ride to Tiger Point

"I am truly free when I am riding"

True for me and my friends. But when you do that riding with fairy-tale surroundings and with dense fog with 3 meter visibility, it turns to pure ecstasy.

This week-end was ecstatic. A short bike trip with some friends and boy, was it a happening one?

Monsoon was at the peak, mood was set for a relaxing and stress relieving week-end, an some fun thrown in would not hurt either :-). From the dark recesses of the memory lane, a small spark lit up. "Have we not being considering a bike trip?....". Actually a friend reminded me of it. Got to dig out the WD-40 spray. Things are a tad rusty upstairs! We zoned in on Tiger Point on the Amby Valley road.

Mokal saheb's organizing skills with dedicated support from Puneet and Nik worked like a charm as, always.

Decided to skip the over populated sites and move on to Tiger point immediately. Some of us had done this a couple of months back in dry conditions and knew what to expect. Mother Nature's lips must have curved into a smile at this thought.

Half way up the twisties, we hit fog. Dense as it can get. Visibility was reduced to barely 3 meters and approaching head lights we visible not more than 10. WOW! True freedom.

All of a sudden, I was alone. No people, no thoughts, no worries, no achievements....No Baggage at all.  I was just barely aware of my surroundings: of friends, my pillion,  traffic, etc. But it was all distant and blurred. Nothing mattered to me any more..nothing. All that had been and will be was irrelevant. All this I have achieved or lost seemed trivial. All desires and wants...gone! I was only conscious of the magic of the moment.  The experience was surreal. The white out seemed to have seeped in and blanketed the world from my mind and only truly important spots shone out of it. Things and people I was spending so much time and energy on were all shrouded in the fog and in turn, the ones that truly mattered shone out.

Realization -> Decisions -> Freedom  -> Joy.

Paisaa wasool :-)

I am sure others also felt the same. The simple smile and shining eyes told me as much.

The rest of the trip was like an after math of the moment. The roaring waterfall, the surprising pull of the flowing stream, the super chilling dip. All that now seems to be an extension.

On the way back, one bike decided to bring us back to reality a little sooner. Refused to start. Shashank Mokal deserves a special mention here in the way he handled the situation, took the necessary decision and did what needed to be done. Hats of to that Guy! Puneet, who also ended up pushing a motorcycle up hill more than once, just refused to stop smiling. The girls who had deadlines and no clue of how long things will take (there were no mechanic or even a shop for quite some way, all phones were in the car which had gone ahead) stood by us rock steady and calm. Feels good to be associated with such people. The group who had to wait for lunch till 5 PM, were warm and considerate to the events. Thats Friends

All in all, we reached back to Kharghar in time and with no further events. And then, there was the night out. But that is another story altogether.

- Signing off...for now
